Four groups, one community

Wherever you sit, there's a place for you.

Devs.Nepal connects developers who write the code, companies that hire them, ministries that propose the work, and Ambassadors recognised by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Developers

For developers

Get government-validated, propose ideas, vote with reasons, ship code, and earn recognition that companies + ministries can see. Verified once, contribute forever.

  • Identity verification by OPM
  • Reasoned voting · threaded discussion
  • Earn badges + appear in talent directory
Companies

For companies hiring

Browse verified Nepali developers, filter by skill + district, and hire with confidence. Every profile is identity-checked by the Office of the Prime Minister.

  • Filter by skill, district, availability
  • Identity-verified · no fake résumés
  • Linked GitHub repos + contribution score
Ministries

For ministries & gov bodies

Post Areas of work, triage community-proposed ideas, accept ones that fit your mandate, and watch them ship transparently. Every reviewer action is audit-logged.

  • Propose → upvote → approve → ship
  • Reviewer queue with audit trail
  • Ministry sponsorship for events
Ambassador tier

Ambassadors

Recognised by the Office of the Prime Minister. Ambassadors represent the community — speak at events, mentor newcomers, and liaise between developers and ministries.

  • Granted by OPM, not earned
  • Auto-rolled from top community badges
  • Represent your district + ministry liaison
How it works

From idea to implementation — five transparent stages.

Every idea on Devs.Nepal moves through the same lifecycle. Status is visible to everyone — no hidden decisions, no silent rejections.

  1. 01

    Sign up & get verified

Create your member profile and upload your national ID and CV. OPM reviewers verify your identity within 48 hours. Company accounts open in a later phase.

  2. 02

    Propose ideas

Verified members propose civic-tech ideas — what to build, why, and which ministry it serves. Every idea starts as Proposed.

  3. 03

    Community upvotes

Every vote requires a written reason — no silent clicks. Ideas that cross 5 community upvotes auto-promote to Under Review.

  4. 04

    Reviewer approves

Ministry reviewers triage Under Review ideas, accept ones that fit, archive ones that don't. Every decision is audit-logged.

  5. 05

    Build & implement

Accepted ideas move to In Development, then Shipped. Authors earn the Heard badge; consistent contributors unlock the Ambassador tier.

What the community is proposing.

Ideas propose civic-tech work government could pick up. Anyone reads; verified members vote with reasoning.

Built for trust

Government-grade security, open-source by default.

We can't ask citizens to trust an opaque system. The platform is open source, the security primitives are documented, and every administrative action is logged.

✓

TLS 1.3 everywhere

HSTS pinned. CSP locked to deny-by-default.

✓

bcrypt passwords

Cost factor 12. No password ever leaves your browser in clear.

✓

Signed doc URLs

Verification IDs stored encrypted, accessed via short-lived URLs.

✓

Audit log on every admin action

Reviewer + reason on every decision. Queryable. Exportable.

Skills directory

Find people by what they build with.

Every verified profile carries its skills as tags. Pick a tag to see who works with it — and every tag on their profile is a link onward.

Registry opening

The first verified profiles will appear here. Create yours and be on the registry from day one.

Open source

What we're building right now — in public.

Every current project has a public repository. Read the code, open an issue, send a pull request — contribution is the point.

nepalconnectPublic

The network layer of Devs.Nepal — verified profiles, the skills directory, and (in phase two) member-to-member connections.

govtasksPublic

A public task board for government work items — every task, its assignee, and its status visible to anyone.

lotteryPublic

Electronic lottery system for the Ministry of Finance — auditable draws with published, verifiable results.

giomsPublic

Office management system for government bodies — files, approvals, and records handled digitally.

Responsible disclosure

Found a vulnerability? Tell us first.

Devs.Nepal runs a disclosure programme for government systems — including this platform itself. If you find a security issue or a bug in DevCore or any listed project, report it directly and safely.

  1. Report

Submit through the secure disclosure form — anonymously if you prefer. Include steps to reproduce.

  2. Acknowledged

A reviewer confirms receipt and severity within 72 hours. Every report is audit-logged.

  3. Fixed & disclosed

We patch first, then publish the advisory together with you — no silent fixes.

  4. Credited

Researchers are credited publicly on the platform, or stay anonymous. Your call.
